The past fours days, Richard Krabbendam presented his well known extensive four day Seminar “Heavy Transport, Lifting, Shipping, Offhore & Wind Turbines” in KL.

A group of ten delegates from Serawak, Malaysia and Singapore joined the Seminar.

Next month Richard will present his last four day extensive Seminar in Aberdeen from 14-17 May 2018. This will be his last public Seminars, take this last oportunity to learn “How to Handle Heavy Lifts Safely”.

Since May 2008 he then presented  a total of 116 Seminars in 26 countries.

This past week, Richard Krabbendam presented his 3 Day Seminar “Heavy Transport, Lifting, Shipping, Offshore & Wind Turbine Installation Techniques” for a group of 30 engineers and operational staff of the Belgium Dredging contractor “Jan de Nul”.

As Jan de Nul, owner of the Wind Turbine Installation Jack-up vessel “Vol Au Vent” since 4 years became quite active as EPC contractor for Wind farms, the management decided to train and educate their staff the “Basic principles of How to Handle Heavy Loads Safely”

It was a very receptive group, eager to learn and did well at the end of the 3 days in the final evaluation test.

There are still two opportunities to join Richard’s extensive 4 day Seminar. From 9-12 April 2018, he will be presenting his well known Seminar in Kuala Lumpur and finally his last public Seminar  from 14-17 May 2018 in Aberdeen.

One of Richard’s last Seminars was presented this week at Wagenborg Shipping in Delfzijl.

A group of Super cargos, Captains, Chief Officers, 2nd Officers, Operations Managers and Nautical Inspectors joined the two Day Seminar, which was held at their office in Delfzijl.

Last week, Richard L.Krabbendam was asked for the second time to train a group of 23 engineers of TWD (Temporary Works Design) in Schiedam.

Last time was in 2014 and due to the rapid expansion of TWD over the past years, Richard was asked to train even a larger group this time. An enthousiastic group joined the two day Seminar.

This week on Thursday & Friday, Richard Krabbendam presented his last public Seminar in Delft, the Netherlands. With a group of 25 participants from Estonia, Denmark, USA, Netherlands, UK, Germany, Spain, Belgium and France it was a very International group and a Full House!

Although announced in September 2017 that he presented his last Seminar in KL., Malaysia, many persons requested for an other Seminar and Richard agreed to do two more Four Day Extensive Seminars: “Heavy Transport, Lifting, Shipping, Offshore & Wind Turbines” in Dubai from 12-15 March 2018 and from 9-12 April  2018 in Kuala Lumpur. More details will be announced soon.

Yesterday, Richard Krabbendam, the Heavy Lift Specialist completed his last and final four Day extensive Seminar “Heavy Transport, Lifting, Shipping, Offshore & Wind Turbines: Onshore & Offshore Installation” from 25-28 Sept. 2017

After 108 Seminars in 26 countries, he decided to stop with Seminars far away from home and slowly wind down.  In May 2008, now almost 10 years ago, he started as a pioneer in sharing his 40+ years of experience in “Heavy Transport, Lifting, Shipping & Offshore”, with whomever was interested.

It started near his home in the Netherlands with a one day Mini Seminar with 5 Chapters. In the course of time and on request of clients, the Mini Seminar was slowly developed in Two, Three and even Four Day Seminars  with as many as 14 Chapters and 587 Slides four the most extensive Seminar of Four Days.

At the age of 72,  it is about time to hand it over to younger Heavy Lift Specialists and indeed several of his old Students as well as other colleagues, are now presenting Heavy Lift Seminars.

Do not miss his last Public Two Day Seminar in Delft, the Netherlands on 9-10 Nov. 2017 right afther the World Crane & Transport Summit  (WCTS 2017) in Amsterdam.

This week it was a selected group of students, of which one came all the way from Santiago de Chili.  The group consisted of 12 Students from Malaysia, Sabah, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Korea and Chile.

I was very honourred to have in my class for the third time Mr.Subeom Choi from Korea, who scored 88% in the evaluation test at the end of the Seminar and got his Certificate. He joined my class in Shanghai, and two times in Kuala Lumpur.

The past three days a team of 28 Staff of Integrated Logistics received training by Richard L.Krabbendam, the Heavy Lift Specialist, who came to Kuwait for the third time since 2015 to built up the level of “Know How” and Experience of the Integrated Logistics Engineering as well as Operational staff.

Although it was 44 degrees Centigrade outside, the training facilities on site could be kept cool.

Integrated Logistics started its Crane rental and Transport activities only in 2006 and has since then built up a large fleet of Mobile as well as Crawler  Cranes  of well known brands like: Terex Demag, Tadano, Grove, Sennebogen and Kobelco. (over 500 Cranes, 24 Goldhofer axlelines of SPT’s and 98 Conventional Goldhofer THP axle lines)

This year Richard will complete his Seminar sessions by the last one on the 9-10th of November 2017. Since 2008 he will then have presented his well known Seminar “Heavy Transport, Lifting & Shipping” 110 times in 26 Countries all over the world.

A large group of 39 persons of the Bolore Logistics Group came together at their headquarteres in Puteaux, Paris and received a two day allround training in “Handling Heavy Lifts Safely”.

Bollore Logistics Staff from the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Norway, Spain, Portugal and France joined together in Puteaux and during the Seminar also had a chance to exchange information with their foreign colleagues.

With a limited engineering background, all participants found it a very informative Seminar and learned a lot during this two day intensive training course.

This week Richard L.Krabbendam was tied up in training the Kadmar Shipping group and others in Alexandria, Egypt.
A group of 37 delegates, most of them from Kadmar Shipping and its Subsidary EGL (Egyptian Global Logistics), but also delegates from DB Schenker, Sarens, DHL, ABDEL AAL AND CO., General Authority For Road & Bridge, Panalpina and SDV joined the 2 1/2 day Seminar which took place from Thursday to Saturday at the Kadmar Head office in the centre of Alexandria.

As EGL has recently aquired a brand new set of Goldhofer Platform trailers, they decided to invest in a specialized training course focused on Heavy Transport, Lifting & Heavy Lift Shipping.

Training & education is the best way to be successful in this specialized niche market of Heavy Transport. 

Richard went through most of his Chapters of the Master Class “Heavy Transport, Lifting & Shipping”, as well as the basics of “How to Handle Heavy Lift Safely”.

It was a very enthousiastic group, with a lot of questions which were all answered and explained in detail.

Three Day Seminar “Heavy Transport, Lifting, Shipping & Offshore” completed in Delft

Last  week from 8-10 Feb. 2017, a three Day extensive Seminar “Heavy Transport, Lifting, Shipping & Offshore” was presented by Richard L.Krabbendam (Heavy Lift Specialist) in the innovation Centre “Buccaneer” in Delft, the Netherlands.

It was almost a full house with 22 delegates from Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Panama, Ghana, Zwitserland and Denmark.

The 14 Chapters that were presented triggered a lot of questions and resulted in some interesting discussions.

After 3 Days intensive training, all delegates performed an evaluation test. The group scored an average of 67% (out of 100%)

Every Delegate gets a Certificate depending on his Test Score, which is classed from Average (60-69%), Good (70-79%), Very Good (80-89%) to Outstanding Result (90-100%).

If the score is below 60%, they receive a Certificate of Completion.

The best Score with 92% was by Frederik de Haan (Junior Installation Analysis Engineer) of Jan de Nul B.V.  See below his Certificate:

Just next to my home a Liebherr 420 EC-H 16 Tower Crane was erected for the construction company Dura Vermeer.

The crane was assembled by Van der Spek from the town of Vianen, the Dutch dealer for Liebherr Tower Cranes.

During the past two days, Richard L.Krabbendam, presented his well know Seminar “Heavy Transport, Lifting & Shipping” to the Logistical Department of Linde AG in Munich.

A group of 14 persons, participated in the Seminar and as can be seen from the evaluation sheet enjoyed what Richard had to say.

12 Chapters were presented and at the end of the second Day an evaluation test was done. Every delegate will receive a Certificate, depending on the test score.

Crowds of people turned out to watch as the world’s largest vessel, Allseas’ “Pioneering Spirit”, departed Rotterdam Saturday morning 6 August 2016.

Allseas’ record-breaking single-lift installation/decommissioning and pipelay vessel has been moored in Rotterdam’s Alexiahaven since January 2015 for installation, commissioning and testing of the topsides lift system.

“Pioneering Spirit” will now head to the Southern North Sea to perform offshore trials throughout August, which will include a series of test platform topsides installation and removal exercises under varying weather conditions.

After the successful completion of offshore trials, “Pioneering Spirit” is expected to sail north to the Yme field, offshore Norway, to remove the 13,500 t Yme mobile offshore production unit (MOPU) for Repsol.

Following removal of the Yme platform, “Pioneering Spirit” will return to Rotterdam where the remaining four topsides lifting beams will be installed for the Shell Brent Delta topsides removal, scheduled for the summer of 2017.  SOURCE: Allseas
