Egytrans being the pioneer in the Egyptian heavy lift and transport industry that it is; it did not shy away from taking on the large project of transporting two 233 ton transformers. Egyptian Transportation & Logistics SAE  “ETAL” executed the transportation of 6 Trafos from two Red Sea ports to the Giza North Power Station.

Due to the size and weight of the trafos (146.5 tons each and Lxwxh=7.42×4.31×5.10 m) the transportation feasibility was studied in detail by the ETAL team of engineers. It proofed that the only way to get the Trafos to the job site, involved partly barging over the Nile river from the Tibin jetty to the Khatatba jetty and finally on carriage to the job site.  For details see pictures below:
