Below I have listed the comments and remarks which I received on the evaluation forms or by e-mail during the “In Company” English Mini-Seminars and Public Seminars
———–
Dear Mr.Krabbendam,
First of all, I would like to thank you for this great seminar. It helped us a lot in terms of learning new shortcuts to be able to designate transport vehicles and cranes for a certain project. I had received many positive feedbacks from participants.
Apart from that we had a chance to gain new perspectives which is going to help us in planning and execution steps of a project.
Here below, you can find list of participants (to be able to see Turkish characters correctly, you can use Times New Roman font)
It was a pleasure for us to see you in our headquarter. I hope we will have a chance to meet again.
Saygılarımla, / Best Regards,
A.Yiğit NEPHAN
Assistant Project Manager

Dear Richard,
Thank you for the course. It was so interesting. I hope to have the opportunity to go into these themes in depth in a future.

Highly recommended to all of those who need to understand the basic principles of moving heavy Loads.
Richard’s course fullfills that need ample!!
—————
Hand-out Polo shirts to everyone
(Might do so next time in Holland, for abroad Seminars I have to carry too much luggage with me
Richard L.Krabbendam)
————–
The “only ” thing that I would recommend is perhaps, some of the content be brought up to recent topics?
—————
Less subjects more time
—————
Please add some mathematical basics for better understanding. No need to explain in detail during Seminar, but add the formulas
(The course can be followed by sales persons and machine operators and others, who have very little technical background. It wil always remain a mixture of practical tips and simple formulas, as everyone must be able to follow it and apply it later themselves.
Richard L.Krabbendam)
————–
Add list of e-mail addresses of participants
(I need approval from participants for that. I will ask next time
Richard L.Krabbendam)
—————
More up to date video footage
(I am working on that!, Richard L.Krabbendam)
Start with Lifting then the rest
—————
More Lifting
—————
A bit too much of SPMT’s. Technical items/objects more specific/detailed; a bit more detailed (Mathematic) calculations or examples. Contract info/Insurance info
Motion response, strength calculations etc.
Barry Hannink
—————-
Put more recent presentations in the Seminar, more comfortable space
—————-
Since no technical background, sometimes too fast (Calculations)
Would like to see more on loading with ships cranes from shore /barge
—————-
Review of Topics towards participants
—————–
Do it on a Thursday and Friday
( Many Companies can not spare their employees two workdays and feel that the employee should invest in private time as well.
Richard L.Krabbendam)
—————–
It is a pity if is focusedf on transport and lifting on land and not on Shippoing
—————–
-Split up of Seminar: 80% was not of my interest
-Hand-out 2-3 Weeks in advance, to start study it, better results in test
-Room was one day too narrow, bad atmosphere (was adjusted the next day!)
-Will not recommend this Seminar in future to our Company!
-Too much detailed info on SPMT’s, I was not interested in, for me a waste of time!
—————
Replace old material in the presentations by more up to date material
—————
More Formulas
—————
More Polo Shirts

Spread the Seminar and information in at least 2 days/ even better 3 days
——————-
A bit too much technical for commercial people, but usefull for technicians
——————
Course went to fast in one Day
——————
What should be the content of a Method Satement in regards of HL on-carriage and installation?
——————-
Additional , more in depth presentation / Seminar would be appreciated
——————
Will inform others and will certainly have another Seminar at our premises
Sandro Lepori, Alstom
——————
Technical wording shall be more “explained/translated”
——————
Leave from workdesk area and choose an outside area!!. Thank you Richard, lot’s of good memories came to my mind. Michel Buholzer
——————
An excellent refresher for transport engineers. It could even go a bit more to the detail
——————
Always Good! Thank you
—————–
For commercial workers, this course is excellent. For technicals, it is basic & get to know other experiences
Stefan
——————-
No comments as I feel the Seminar was conducted very well
——————-
Too much focus on Off-shore equipment is not related to Alstom Scope of work. Maybe more focus on safety and less on off shore equipment. Accidents very interesting, Videos very good
——————
Color Hand-outs rather then monochrome
——————
More excercises
—————–
More case study
—————
Could be for three days Seminar
—————
Color Hand-outs and eventually bigger slides for pictures. Maybe for the basic stuff (fore calculations) you should spend more time and do some execrcises for the non technical audience to follow the course.
—————-
Specify the target group on the invitation
—————-
Some subjects too slow, some too fast, depending on the individual interest of the delegates
—————-
Separation of commercial issues
Baltship A/S
Alex Sogaard Olsen

Maybe the very technical part and formulas are very hard for me, understand are useful, but hard for me to follow
Thank you for your knowledge,
IBG
————–
To do it in at least 4 days to cover more details
————–
In my opinion time should be extended to gert better understanding of very technical aspects, calculations, formulas etc.
————–
Segregate people from the same company to mix with others
————–
Very good and useful
————–
More time to asimilate all the information. Mr. Krabbendam is an excellent proffessional
This Seminar is a must if you want to know about heavy Lifting!
—————-
Learn to control your pointer please
—————-
Questions are very good, but with such a large group it is easy to loose too much time, 3 Day– Seminar???
—————-
As I am a commercial man, some of the calculations should have been explained more in detail in order to follow
—————-
“I cannot fault this Seminar in any way, as it was the most informative two days I have ever spent. I will recommend it to any one with an interest in this Industry.
Thank you Richard, Karol Collins, Ireland “
—————–
Richard,
It was a pleasure meeting you Friday, your seminar was very refreshing for me and it also allowed a different perspective to James Taylor, one of our field Superintendents who joined me in the meeting.
Again, thank you for your time, it was a very good presentation.
Best regards,
Howard Blanc
Senior Project Manager
Burkhalter Rigging, Inc.

Richard,
You had mentioned sending those who were interested spreadsheets for the various calculation examples in the manual, including Trailer Loadout Calc’s and Rigging Calc spreadsheets. We would very much be interested in any spreadsheets you are willing to share.
Could we get a color pdf of the presentation, we find that some of the details have been lost in the black and white print out.
The class you offered was phenomenal and we will be sending more people from our organization to the next conference you offer here in Houston. Thanks again, it was simply the best day seminar I have ever attended, we only wished it was longer.
VTY,
James

Dear Richard:
Requesting Excel Spreadsheet (program). Just a note to let you know I came away from your class with a new appreciation and considerable respect for “good” heavy lift specialists. Also, realizing just how lucky I have been over the years.
Your new friend,
Captain Stan A. Kays
AVP-US Gulf Coast Marine Loss Control Engineering
Dear Richard:
By all means, use my comments.
By the way, if in the future, I need a heavy lift, transportation specialist, do you still make yourself available for this kind of work (or at least consultation)?
Kind regards,
Stan
Dear Stan,
As explaind during the Seminar, I still work full time with Jumbo until next year March, when I officiallly retire, but Jumbo and others still want me as free lance consultant, so by all means I am at our service.
Just give me a call. Even today I still have 28 vacation days to spare, which I use for consultancy work and seminars. I have hereby attached my detailed CV.
I look forward working together
Kind rgds,
Richard L.Krabbendam
Heavy Lift Specialist

I am interested in having more employees attend this course, Also the Master Class,
Mike Smith, Crane Rental Corp.
———–
I very much appreciated you Richard and your knowledge and experience. This class was a bit much for my knowledge depth, being that I am in sales. However, I will pass it on to our engineers.
Please consider a class that specialises on Heavy Lifts + Safe practices önly”. Would help us in the sling business. Thanks
————
– From an engineers point of view I would like more detail pick points, Rigging, Load distribution…. Deflections…., For myself less moment, crane load, statistics.
-The string, wood block spreader stability triangle demonstration was the best!!
-Videos helped to explain ideas
————–
Less promotion of /reference to European comapnies. Make the presentation apply to the area of the Seminar. US/Metric, etc.
—————
More practical application, less technical
—————
As I am not an engineer some material covered too quickly
—————
Do a longer 2 day or 3 day class!!
—————
Change examples to easy numbers (i.e. 100 T, 25 m) makes calculations easy for examples
Very interesting overview
Bob Shaddock (Project Manager), Sheedy Drayage Co.
————-
Enjoyed the course, very informative
————–
Seminar was very helpful. A lot of materials to cover in a short time. Having the Hand-out to review at a later time is a great idea, will use it for future reference. Thank you.
————–
Would like to see the full days. Also located closer to city, i.e. Galleria. I would attend a full week if offered!
————-
Very interesting and informative. Lessons learned will prevent future accidents.
Frank van Hoorn, Argonautics Marine Engineering, San Francisco
—————-
Offshore lifting scenario/Transportation/seafastening should be usefull. Highly recommended
————–
Excellent course, enjoying and a lot of learning, Highly recommended
————–
A lot of mathematics at the start and a lot of info to absorb in such a short period. But it was clear and concise and I enjoyed it. Thanks a lot. Highly recommended. Andrew Statter, Bay Crane
————–
Suggest a 2 day Seminar to fully cover all topics in depth. Highly recommended
————-
- Try to reduce time spend on loads definition as we know already
- Would like to include offshore lifts and transportation including the role of the MWS
————
Offshore lifting / Dynamic lift, Highly recommended
————-
- Verify the wordings
- Spent a bit more time on Hydraulic trailers
————-
- Include some Marine Lifting
- Take note of lifting experience of audience, which can vary from very little to a lot, from onshore to offshore, etc.
- A glossary of key lifting/equipment terms may be usefull in the Hand-out
————-
Marine lifting & transport operations (Though we appreciate this course is land based at present)
————-
Too slow, some topics were to eleborate
Would have preferred some more opportunity to talk myself. This in order to compare with my day to day practices related to lifting (and personal experience : 7 years with Heerema Offshore works)
Personnally prefer, less road transportation, more offshore related aspects
————–
Somewhat over my head
————–
References as to where books could be obtained to familiarize with the metric system
————–
Excellent Seminar anyone in this business should take the time to listen to Richard. It was very interesting: NOT – BORING. Highly recommended. Glenn Loiacomo, Bay Crane
————–
Highly recommended, Nozer Gandhi, Bay Crane
————–
Highly recommended, Mark Jones, Bay Crane
————–
Have it on a weekday
————–
Larger print-outs of the slides. Highly recommended
————–
To much basic knowledge in physics were repeated. This may be useful in an other forrum, but when most of the audience have an engineering technical background, this should not be necessary. Further I would have found it interesting with more focus on heavy lift and transport vessels.
The Hand-outs should be in electronic form on the CD
